Terms of Reference

The EMS Committee for European Solidarity will undertake actions to reduce inequalities in the access to mathematical activities in research and higher education as well as to information in the geographical area of EMS membership, through the following means:

  • Awarding travel grants to qualified mathematicians without appropriate financial support, notably early career researchers (that is, 10 years after Ph.D. degree).
  • Funding training activities, such as advanced courses or workshops.
  • Supporting bilateral and multilateral regional conferences.
  • Easing access to research resources, including digital libraries, through travel grants.
  • Launching new scientific initiatives that might help achieve the goals of the Committee.
