The Catalan Mathematical Society (SCM) will host the fifth edition of the Barcelona Mathematical Days (BMD), its flagship international research conference, from 7 to 9 October 2026.

The conference brings together researchers working across a broad range of mathematical disciplines. As part of this year’s programme, the SCM and the EMS Young Academy (EMYA) will co-organize a hybrid special session of MOSS, the Mathematics Online Seminar Series.

The plenary speakers are:

  • Marco Abate, University of Pisa
  • Ruth Charney, Brandeis University
  • Dan Crisan, Imperial College London
  • Xavier Ros-Oton, University of Barcelona

In addition to the plenary lectures, the conference will host the following thematic sessions:

  • Combinatorics and Interactions
Organizers: Anna de Mier (UPC), Alberto Espuny (UB), Arnau Padrol (UB)

  • Dynamical Systems
Organizers: Kostya Drach (UB), Pau Martín (UPC), Jordi Villadelprat (UAB)

  • Geometric and Algorithmic Aspects of Groups
Organizers: André Carvalho (University of Évora), Jorge Delgado (UPC), Mallika Roy (Harish-Chandra Research Institute)

  • Interactions between Analysis, Probability, and Partial Differential Equations
Organizers: Juan Carlos Cantero (UAB), Odí Soler i Gibert (UPC)

  • Mathematical Modelling
Organizers: Jezabel Curbelo (UPC), Gemma Huguet (UPC)

  • Miscellaneous Aspects of Arithmetic Geometry
Organizers: Roberto Gualdi (UPC), Santiago Molina (UdL)

  • Stochastic Analysis
Organizers: Lluís Quer (UAB), Sara Solanilla (UB)

  • Topological Data Analysis
    Organizer: Carles Casacuberta (UB)

Call for posters

Early-career researchers, including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, are especially encouraged to participate and present a poster. The deadline for poster submissions is 31 July 2026.

MOSS seminar

A hybrid MOSS session will take place on 7 October as part of the conference programme. The speaker will be Elba García-Falide, recipient of the Boris Dubrovin Medal.

Find previous MOSS seminar recordings on the EMS YouTube channel and participate online by joining the MOSS mailing list for the Zoom link.

Registration is open, with reduced fees available for students, SCM members and invited speakers. The early-registration rate is available until 4 September 2026.
