2025 EMS-IAMP School in Mathematical Physics: Symmetry and Measurement in QFT (York, UK)
The European Mathematical Society (EMS) and the International Association of Mathematical Physics (IAMP) are pleased to announce that the 2025 EMS-IAMP School in Mathematical Physics will be held at the University of York from April 7 to April 11, 2025, under the title "Symmetry and Measurement in Quantum Field Theory."

The Spring School aims to provide early-career researchers with advanced training in quantum field theory, with a special focus on symmetry and measurement, including introductory lectures on the algebraic approach to QFT, and lectures on their philosophical aspects. Early-career researchers will have the opportunity to familiarise with these recent developments and the necessary tools to tackle these challenges in fundamental quantum field theory research.
Registration Details
- No registration fee is required for this school. However, applicants must submit a brief description of their background and motivation, which may be used as a selection criterion.
- The first round of registrations closed on February 1, 2025. In case of remaining capacity, registration will stay open until March 1.
- Limited travel support is available, with applications due by February 14. Only applicants who complete the registration form for the Spring School will be considered. Priority will be given to participants without access to travel funding from their home institution, with an emphasis on fostering diversity in gender, ethnicity, country of origin, and research interests.
