The University of Klagenfurt is pleased to announce the following open position at the Department of Economics (Quantitative Economics Division) at the Faculty of Management, Economics & Law, to be filled at the earliest possible date, but not later than October 1, 2025: University assistant predoctoral (all genders welcome) (in German: Universitätsassistent:in) Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week) Minimum salary: € 52,007.20 per annum (gross); classification according to collective bargaining agreement: B1 Limited to: 4 years Application deadline: April 2, 2025 Reference code: 649-1/24 Tasks and responsibilities: The Quantitative Economics Division is a research group within the Department of Economics that has a clear focus on high-quality research and is active in a variety of topics in economics, econometrics and quantitative economics. The position comprises the following tasks and responsibilities: • Independent research with the aim of submitting a dissertation in economics, econometrics or quantitative economics and acquiring a doctoral degree • Contribution to departmental research and teaching projects • Independent teaching in German and in English and supervision of students • Adequate participation in the administrative tasks and responsibilities of the department • Participation in university committees, in university self-governance and in public relations activities of the department
