Applications are invited from candidates who have completed their PhD within the last 5 years (or will have completed it before the time of hiring), and who have a strong background in the mathematical theory of fluid dynamics. Excellent knowledge of PDEs and functional analysis, including the framework of Sobolev spaces and weak solutions, is required. Both postdoctoral fellows will concentrate on the concept of generalized solutions. One fellow will focus on the applications of the abstract theory for designing efficient numerical schemes, the second one will work on the stability of solutions and their asymptotic behaviour under general, possibly stochastic perturbations.
