Subject to the provision and approval of third-party funding by the third-party funder, starting from April 1st, 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics offers an employment for a part-time position as Scientific Assistant (Post-Doc) (m/f/x) (75 % full-time equivalent, E 13 TV-L) The fixed-term employment for 24 months follows the Act of Temporary Employment in Higher Education (WissZeitVG) and the Saxon Law on Universities (SächsHSG) in their respective current version. Selection will occur according to suitability, qualification and professional performance. Your tasks comprise • Participation in the project „ACCESS: Academic Core Essentials“ • Development of supporting digital learning resources for acquiring basic academic skills for international master's students, exemplified in the international Master's programme “Advanced and Computational Mathematics” • Coordination of the mentoring programme for the international Master’s programme “Advanced and Computational Mathematics“ You will utilize your research findings for scientific publications and your own qualification. This position is intended to further your academic qualification. Your profile • Completed academic university studies in the field of mathematics or a closely related discipline that provides access to the corresponding qualification level • Completed doctoral degree (expected) in the field of mathematics or a closely related discipline. • Structured, independent, solution-oriented work ethics with high quality standards. • Excellent proficiency in English • Experience in conducting teaching activities is desirable • Highly desirable are excellent, in-depth knowledge in at least one of the following areas: o functional analysis (locally convex spaces, distributions etc.) o operator theory o operator semigroups o partial differential operators Applicants have to fulfil the precondition of employment according to §73 SächsHSG.
