Permanent Research Position (CRCN) - Artificial Intelligence for Drone Systems and Complex RF Environments Disciplines: Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, Signal Processing Keywords: Deep Learning, Distributed AI, Edge Computing, Multimodal Data Analysis, Cyber-Physical Systems Scientific Scope Université Gustave Eiffel is opening a permanent Research Scientist position (Chargé·e de Recherche – CRCN, French civil servant status) focused on Artificial Intelligence and Applied Mathematics for complex cyber-physical systems, with applications to drone monitoring and secure communication environments. The successful candidate will develop innovative AI models, including distributed and cooperative learning approaches, capable of operating under real-world constraints (real-time processing, embedded systems, edge computing). Research activities will address: - Learning and modelling from heterogeneous and multimodal data - AI methods for dynamic and non-stationary environments - Robust detection, identification and tracking of drone systems - Interaction between machine learning models and RF communication signals The position is embedded within an interdisciplinary research environment combining AI, signal processing, wireless communications and cybersecurity, with strong links to smart mobility and urban systems. Expected Profile Applicants should demonstrate: - Strong expertise in applied mathematics, machine learning or statistical modelling - Proven experience in deep learning or advanced data-driven modelling - Ability to design AI architectures adapted to distributed or embedded systems - High-quality scientific publications in international peer-reviewed venues Experience or interest in signal processing, RF systems, wireless communications, or cyber-physical security will be considered an asset.
