Our team in the Chair of Analysis in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science is looking for a Research Assistant Full-time (39.83 hours per week) fixed-term contract (3 years) in pay group 13 TV-L As the only state distance-learning university in the German-speaking world, we have almost 50 years of experience in the field of lifelong learning. Our five faculties drive innovation through subject-specific and interdisciplinary research, cultivating forward-thinking solutions. Your tasks: • You will be involved in the creation and revision of distance learning materials and assignments. • You will take part in the implementation of distance-learning courses and on-campus events (seminars/internships) • You will provide support for students writing seminar papers and bachelor’s and master’s theses. • You will help out with the administrative tasks of the chair. • You will be involved in the research projects organized by the chair. Your profile: • You have completed a university degree at master’s level in mathematics or theoretical physics or a university degree at master’s level and a doctorate in mathematics or theoretical physics. • You have good prior knowledge in the field of analysis, in particular operator theory, the analysis of partial differential equations, spectral theory, nonlinear analysis, or optimal transport. • This call is not aimed exclusively at graduates or doctoral students: The main criterion for recruitment is an excellent mathematical profile, regardless of your academic age. The respective contract term is based on your personal requirements and the qualification you are working towards. We will endeavor to offer you further employment to achieve your qualification goal or to gain further academic qualifications if necessary (and possible).
