The University of Latvia is launching an open competition for a tenured professor's vacancy in the field of mathematical foundations of data science and artificial intelligence to increase its competence in the use of modern digital tools. The vacancy regards research in the field of data science and mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence as well as interdisciplinary collaboration for the integration of the research results in the development of other research directions of UL. The tenured professor is expected to demonstrate high quality intensive research activity both in Latvia and internationally. The position provides for motivational remuneration and support in the creation of a research group. The tenured professor will be expected to: - Create a research group - Conduct high quality scientific research and publish its results - Raise research funding - Participate in educating students by supervising their theses and delivering study courses (not more than 4 academic hours per week) - Build a research-based collaboration with the public sector.
