The Singularity Theory and Algebraic Geometry group at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics is looking to fill a 3 year postdoctoral position, with a possibility of extension for 1 year. The candidate’s research interests should connect in the broad sense to the topics pursued within the group: commutative algebra, geometry (algebraic, complex, or symplectic), and topology. The description of our group can be found at http://www.bcamath.org/en/research/lines/STAG Requirements: Expertise connected to the research interests of STAG, such as geometry (algebraic, complex, or symplectic), commutative algebra, or topology. PhD degree in Mathematics completed before the contract starts. Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills. A proven track record in Mathematics. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Fluency in spoken and written English. In the selection procedure we will appreciate: Interest in the study of singularities or the interplay of singularities with algebra, geometry, or topology.
