Postdoctoral position in PDE

The Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IM CAS) is seeking a researcher for the project Praemium Academiae coordinated by professor Šárka Nečasová and funded by the Czech Academy of Sciences. We invite applications from candidates who have completed their PhD degree in Mathematics within the last 5 years. Applicants should have a good background in the theory of partial differential equations and mathematical analysis of fluid mechanics. Knowledge of the modern theory of partial differential equations, strong and weak solutions, and Sobolev spaces is necessary. Knowledge of modern methods for mathematical and computational modelling, as well as of numerical simulations and applications in biomedicine or industry is welcome. The successful applicant will be based at the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, and perform mathematical research in the areas of the project. He/she is also expected to take part in activities of the Department of Evolution Differential Equations such as seminars and workshops organized by the group. No teaching is involved.
