Postdoctoral fellowship: Global Categorical Symmetries

The Chair of Topology within the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship (3 years, 100%, m/w/d, starting fall 2022) supervised by Professor Claudia Scheimbauer as part of the Simons Collaboration on Global Categorical Symmetries. This is a joint physics and mathematics research program focused on the interplay between quantum field theory, topology, higher category theory and representation theory. Candidates are expected to show outstanding promise in research relevant to the Collaboration themes. The postdoctoral fellow will be working within a vibrant, interdisciplinary and international research environment located on the Garching Campus of the TU München, and will furthermore have the opportunity to make extended visits to other collaboration sites, to contribute to joint research activities, and to participate in collaboration workshops and summer schools. The position is for 3 years and teaching is optional. The salary is the standard 100% salary for postdocs according to the Federal German payment scale TV-L. The ideal starting date is in fall 2022, but can be discussed.
