PhD position in Algorithms

A PhD position (3 years, 100%, m/w/d, starting April 2022) is available in the new group of Professor Andreas Wiese at the Department of Mathematics, Technical University of Munich which will be established in spring 2022. The group's research focus will be combinatorial optimization, approximation algorithms, and dynamic algorithms. The ideal candidate holds an excellent master’s degree in mathematics, theoretical computer science or a related area. Publications are an advantage. Solid English skills, both oral and in writing, are expected. In addition, the successful candidate is highly self-motivated and has a good ability to work both independently as well as in a team. Her/his activities will include conducting research with other group members and external collaborators, teaching, and participating in other activities of the group. Proficiency in German is not required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a young and interdisciplinary team located at the Garching Campus of the TU München, with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree whilst collaborating with other members of the group, as well as external collaborators.
