PhD Position

University of Primorska | Koper, Slovenia

Classification: Analysis and its Applications

A PhD position is available at the University of Primorska (Koper, Slovenia) under supervision of Prof. Bojan Kuzma. The position is fully funded for 4 years, and besides salary includes funds for attending conferences or research visits abroad. The research program encompasses several areas at the intersection of functional analysis and graph theory. Primary focus will be investigating the graph related to the Birkhoff-James orthogonality relation. The objective of this research is to determine the extent to which Birkhoff James orthogonality can classify finite-dimensional C*-algebras among all normed spaces and to explore its isomorphisms in the context of real, finite-dimensional C*-algebras. Additionally, we aim to assess whether Birkhoff-James orthogonality can classify reflexive Banach spaces. Any questions should be sent to bojan.kuzma@upr.si
