PhD in Numerical Analysis of PDEs
Monash University | Melbourne, Australia
Classification: Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing
Several PhD positions are available to work in the area of numerical analysis of PDEs, focusing on novel discretisations for nonlinear multiphysics problems. The projects are led by Ricardo Ruiz Baier and they are funded by the Australian Research Council and Monash Mathematics. Monash University is located in Melbourne, the cultural hub of Australia. This is one of the most liveable cities in the world and you will find it an exciting, culturally diverse and safe place to live and study. Candidates are expected to have finished a Master's degree in mathematics or an equivalent qualification. A good command of theoretical numerical analysis, scientific computing, functional analysis, continuum mechanics, and PDEs is required. Further information is available at https://www.monash.edu/science/schools/school-of-mathematics/postgraduate-research Inquiries and applications (including at least a cover letter, CV, certificates of academic degrees and references for possible recommendation letters) should be directed to Prof. Ricardo Ruiz Baier (ricardo.ruizbaier@monash.edu) until August 15, 2022.
