Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the leading scientific and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. It covers a wide range of fields in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, material sciences, or nuclear engineering. The Faculty seeks outstanding researchers in any of these fields for an appointment at all levels, beginning January 2024 or later. For tenured or tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, the candidate must be an established and internationally recognized researcher with strong track records. In case of the tenure track, the first contract is for 2 years and can be extended after an evaluation up to 8 years. After a successful habilitation, a permanent position will be offered. Essential requirements for this post are as follows: • research experience in any of the fields offered at the Faculty (which include but are not limited to pure and applied mathematics, experimental or theoretical physics of thermonuclear fusion, quantum technologies and high energy physics, theoretical and experimental research in photonics, quasicrystals as a tool for strengthening of advanced functional materials, dosimetry and applications of ionizing radiation, advanced experimental reactor physics, and machine learning in big data processing), • excellent publication and citation records, • long-term international experience, • positive attitude towards teaching, • ability to integrate scientific activities, teaching and supervision of student theses, including training and supervision of doctoral students, • good command of English; no knowledge of Czech is required - however, any interest in learning Czech is welcome. A competitive salary is guaranteed for two years. The average salary at the Faculty amounts to 2700 EUR for Assistant Professor, 3100 EUR for Associate Professor and 3400 EUR for Full Professor. Afterwards, the successful candidate is expected to apply for and obtain a grant (e.g., from ERC and/or the Czech Science Foundation) financing his/her further research.
