Associate Professor in Statistical Methods and Machine Learning

There is a full time permanent position as Associate Professor available in the Section for Statistics and Data Science at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway. The section is a very active group and will host and lead INTEGREAT, The Norwegian Centre for Knowledge-driven Machine Learning, a prestigious centre of excellence funded by the Research Council of Norway with a generous grant of 16 mil Euro, together with matching funds from the academic partners UiO and the University of Tromsø (UiT). The centre will operate from September 2023 to 2033, will fund more than 60 PhD and postdoc positions and involve researchers from our section, the departments of computer science and biostatistics at UiO and from the machine learning group at UiT. Applicants for this position of associate professor will be especially interested in pursuing their research within INTEGREAT. The applicant must have a PhD in statistics, mathematics or computer science (or closely related fields) and further post-graduate research experience in statistical methodology and/or statistical machine learning theory and methods and their applications.
