The Chair of Analysis (Prof. Stefan Wenger) of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor non-tenure track in Analysis/Geometry (Oberassistent(in) resp. Maître assistant(e)). The ideal candidate will be conducting internationally recognized research in the area of Analysis/Geometry, in a domain such as, but not limited to, Geometric Analysis, Geometric Measure Theory, Analysis on metric spaces, or Metric Geometry. The ideal candidate will also have the potential to obtain external funding. The successful candidate will contribute to the vibrant research environment of the department and participate in the scientific and administrative activities of the Chair and the department, including the supervision of Master theses. The position carries a teaching load of 4 hours per week (Bachelor and Master level) and comes with a competitive salary. The University of Fribourg is bilingual, French and German. Courses are generally taught in German or French, with some Master’s courses taught in English. The ideal candidate is expected to speak German or French, or otherwise acquire the necessary language skills within a reasonable period.
