The School of Computation, Information and Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d, 100%, German salary level E13, duration 2-4 years) starting as soon as possible. The DFG funded position is located within the newly created Collaborative Research Center “Mathematics of Many Body Quantum Systems and Their Collective Phenomena” and will be co-supervised by Prof. Michael M. Wolf, Professor for Mathematical Physics and Prof. Robert König, Professor for the Theory of Complex Quantum Systems, both at the TUM Department of Mathematics. The Collaborative Research Center is a transregional cooperation between TUM, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the University of Tübingen. The position is assigned to the subproject “Complexity in Many-Body Quantum Systems”, which focuses on different notions of complexity of quantum states and evolutions, their relations and applications. We seek excellent, highly motivated candidates who have a ▪ doctoral degree in mathematics, physics, or computer science ▪ good understanding of quantum theory and a strong background in at least one of the following fields: functional analysis, differential geometry, quantum information theory and/or theoretical computer science ▪ good command of the English language (knowledge of German is not required).
