	ymposium to celebrate the achievements of a recent medallist. The Public O
	pening kicks off the Symposium\, and aims to help demystify the medallist'
	s area of research and to provide an opportunity for the general public to
	 enjoy\, learn from and be inspired by. \n\nThis year's Fields Medal Sympo
	sium will honour Akshay Venkatesh who was awarded the Fields Medal in 2018
	. Dr. Venkatesh will kick off the Public Opening with a talk on “Glimpses 
	Through the Lens of Entropy.”
