DESCRIPTION:The Induction Course for New Lecturers in the Mathematical Scie
	nces has been designed by the mathematics community so that it is ideally 
	suited for anyone who is new to or has limited experience teaching mathema
	tics or statistics within UK higher education. It will be delivered by ind
	ividuals with significant experience of teaching in the mathematical scien
	ces and will focus upon the specific details and issues that arise in math
	ematics and statistics teaching and learning within higher education inclu
	ding topics such as:\n\n• Lecturing.\n• Supporting student learning.\n• Ma
	king teaching interactive.\n• Assessment\, examinations and feedback.\n• L
	inking teaching & research.\n• Using technology to enhance teaching and le
	arning.\n• Using examples and mathematical problem solving.\n• Teaching st
	atistics and its applications.\n\nAdditionally\, there will be significant
	 opportunities for delegates to discuss their own ideas\, challenges and e
	xperiences with the session facilitators so that individual queries can be
