DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications will run the 
	first IMA Conference on Mathematics in Music at the Royal College of Music
	 in London\, July 13 - July 15\, 2022\, with the support and sponsorship o
	f the Royal Musical Association. \n\nThe conference will focus onto the ex
	ploration of the connections between mathematics and music\, in particular
	 current developments of music theory\, music performance\, music percepti
	on and music technology based on or inspired by mathematical applications 
	and concepts\, including (but not limited to) category theory\, group theo
	ry\, topology\, differential geometry\, combinatorics\, analysis\, acousti
	c theory\, as well as artificial intelligence\, deep learning\, language p
	rocessing and coding. \n\nThe event will feature a plenary session with co
	ntributed talks\, a poster session\, a general-audience lecture and four i
	nvited plenary lectures from world renowned researchers in the field: \n\n

	, University of Minnesota\nProf Geraint Wiggins\, Vrije Universiteit Bruss

	ery keen that student researchers are a core part of this event and would

	dent prize for the best submission\, with the winning student being awarde
	d a book voucher from the IMA and a free RMA membership from the RMA.
