Christian Bär becomes new Editor-in-Chief of zbMATH Open
zbMATH Open (link), the renowned international information service for mathematics, has a new Editor-in-Chief. Christian Bär, Professor of Geometry at the University of Potsdam since 2004, will take up his position on January 1, 2024.
zbMATH Open is edited by the EMS, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and FIZ Karlsruhe.
Incoming Editor-in-Chief Christian Bär is a leading expert in global analysis, differential geometry and applications in mathematical physics, who served as President of the German Mathematical Society from 2011 to 2012.
He takes over from outgoing Editor-in-Chief Klaus Hulek, who since 2016 has made a significant contribution to developing zbMATH into a world-leading information service for mathematical research and transforming it into an open access platform by the beginning of 2021.
The EMS extends Klaus Hulek our profound thanks for all his excellent work, and we congratulate and welcome Christian Bär on his appointment.
